Or

A custom-made adult or child apron.

....the winer will get to choose from an assortment of fabric
prints for their prize!

your favorite Christmas tradition....It's that simple.

Just make sure you leave your email if it is not provided on your blog profile!

Contest will end December 28th!

A Lesson Learned

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed a
bored 15 year old and a red ink pen together?

Dalton was obviously so bored that the only way he could find to
occupy himself was to chew on the end of a pen....he was so into the
movie that he didn't realize he had sucked the ink right up the tube...

This is after he brushed his teeth....I laughed so hard at him.
The look on his face was priceless...he was so relieved that
it came off....well, most of it ;o}

~A Beautiful Full Moon~

Last night was such a beautiful night!

The moon was full and bright. It's silvery beams shone through
the windows lighting up the whole house.

The kids were all in bed and and it was just us two....

...all alone...
....sounds romantic huh?

Well....I guess it would have been ~ if I was snuggling
with my darling hubby instead of this....
Yep ~ you guessed it...I caught that stupid virus after all!
Luckily it was short lived and today everyone is well!
Thank God!

Dear hubby has been walking around with a can of Lysol all day.
He is the only one who hasn't had the virus. I hope he doesn't
get it...he's not exactly the easiest sick person to take care of ;o}
Big Baby!

I guess with this virus sweeping through the house I
totally forgot it was Friday!

I have been bleaching and spraying everything down
with Lysol...Washing everything that will fit in the washer....
I AM NOT GETTING SICK! (I hope & pray & pray some more!)

Dalton & Kayla are better today....but now Ethan is sick.
So keep praying!

So, without further delay....here is Foto Friday!

Chicken Noodle Soup & a Virus

14 days until Christmas and two of my kids are sick!
I am guessing they have a virus....

I went to the store and stocked up on Sprite, crackers & of'course
popsicles! Kayla loves the banana ones.
Just so you know...we hardly ever get sick...EVER!
Say a prayer for them ~ that they will get over it soon.
And for the rest of us ~ that we won't get it!
(We are going to see the Christmas program at Bellevue tom night!)

I am making some home-made chicken noodle soup for dinner.
I hope that Dalton & Kayla will feel like eating some later...
Honestly, I really don't like chicken noodle soup...but I am
thinking more along the lines of what will do the least
damage on the way back up ;o}
~I know....that's gross!~

Here is the recipe~just in case some one else comes down with the bug ;o}

2 T butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 stalks chopped celery
1 T parsley flakes
8 chicken legs
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup canned green peas and carrots
1 c milk
1 bag egg noodles, cooked and drained
salt & pepper to taste
Sometimes I add a sprinkle of Montreal Chicken seasoning too!

Cook chicken in water until done. Remove chicken from pot
(reserving broth)and remove from bone. Add enough water to broth to
make 5 cups; set aside. In a large pot, melt butter and add
onion and celery; sauté until onion is tender. Add the
parsley, chicken, & soups. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and
simmer for 20 minutes. Add the peas and carrots,
cover, and simmer for 10 minutes longer. Stir in the milk, along with the
cooked noodles; add salt & pepper to taste. Heat through.

Serve with warm rolls!

Stay healthy!

'LOVE'
I thought that since today was my anniversary and all that love
would be the perfect theme for today.
This is my nephew Colton....with his friend Liana. I asked
him to give her some sugar....he didn't hold back either! I was
thinking he might give her a little peck on the cheek.....
.....boy, was I wrong!

Shopping, Shopping & More Shopping!

Shopping!
Shopping!
Shopping!

Every year my mom puts together a family shopping trip. This year my mom,
sister & I along with my sister-n-laws went to Jonesboro, Arkansas.
They have a huge mall and & I think we covered every square
inch of it...or at least my feet felt like we did. ;o}

Here is Kayla pretending to be at the Masquerade Ball.

Here we are ready for another day of shopping!
Mom, Kayla, Kara, Jessica, Cheryl & me. We had a good time. I'm not one to stay away from my family...
....ever! ...but I guess once a year....for one night.....
I can handle it.....maybe! ;o}

Christmas Parades & Cookies

Well....it's that time of year again.
When you bundle up in so many clothes you can barely walk, leave
45 minutes early just to walk 2 blocks and stand outside in the
freezing cold to watch the Christmas parade.
Seriously....When we left, the thermostat on the truck said 33!

If you ask me...there is a thin line between having Christmas
spirit & being mentally insane! ;o}

Here we are freezing waiting for the parade to start.
Kayla was sure to get a good seat...she was hoping for
someone to fill her lap with candy.

Can you see all of the red noses?
After the parade we went to the church for some hot
chocolate & cookies.
It took a while...but I finally thawed out! ;o}

Today's Foto Friday theme is:

'Thanksgiving'

This picture was taken last year...

I have so much to be thankful for...I could stay up all night typing
them out and wouldn't even get close to finished.

I am thankful for my Savior. For Him saving me, my husband & my children.

I am so thankful for my husband. He is the smartest, hardest working
man I know. I thank God every day for putting us together...

I am thankful for my children. They are each a blessing and I know
God has big plans for their lives.

I am thankful for my health and the health of my family. I think
that sometimes we take being healthy for granted.

Like I said...there are so many, many more things to list...
...but I would probably lose most of you around # 10 or so...
...if I haven't lost you already. ;o}

Remember to count your blessings this holiday season!

Today's Foto Friday theme is:

'SILLY'

When I uploaded the pictures from my camera
yesterday this is what I found....

Come to find out..Ethan was being silly and taking random
pictures in his room. Not only do I have the silly Foto...I
have a story to go with it. ....you see, the bear went shopping
at American Eagle, stopped for a cold Pepsi and then went hunting....
He shot a big buck and kept the antlers for a hat.

Sure, now he can come up with a silly short story...but when
he has to write one for school...he has absolutely NO
imagination! ;o}

My First Dresses!

Aren't these cute?!
These are my first pillowcase dresses!

I was trying to think of something to get for my nieces for
Christmas and decided to try my hand at these dresses.

I have even listed a few on e-bay.

Then I got to thinking....I am getting dangerously close to my
100th post and since it seems to be the norm to have a
give-away to celebrate that once in a life-time event..lol..;o}

.... I may just give-away a pillowcase dress!

Anyway....I just wanted to show everyone how cute they are!

~Weekend With Family~

Since hubby's group 'Under Grace' had a benefit singing at
mom & dad's church Friday night ~ we were able
to spend most of the weekend with them.

Here is Caleb checking Grampy's blood pressure.

Dad has been home from Texas 2 weeks now. The doctors at M.D.
Anderson refused to do anymore radiation treatments due to the amount
of radiation he has already had on his brain. They sent him
home with out any hope of recovery.
My parents are fully trusting on God for a miracle.

Caleb says that Uncle Jeremy's heart works fine.

The kids spent most of the rainy Saturday playing games.

My little sister Kara & Ethan playing spit. My baby brother Jason.

Today's foto Friday theme is:

'Family'

This was probably the hardest theme for me so far....
I don't usually look through my pictures for ideas....I like to think
of a theme and then come up with a foto to go with it...

Since I only have close to 3,000 pictures stored on my computer
and most of them are family I decided to narrow it down to a
picture of someone I have never posted a foto of....

This is a foto of the kids with their grandmother (hubby's mom)

Anyone Up For A Give Away?

Just thought I would do a quick SHOUT OUT to a few bloggers
who are having some great give-aways.

First of all...a special thanks to Beachy Mimi for having her 'Thanksgiving
Pass It Forward' give-away...mostly because I WON!...but also
because I will be able to 'Pass it Forward'

is celebrating her 100th post with a Hugs & Kisses give-away!

Blessed Mama @ Memoirs of a southern goddess is giving away
a gift certificate to her Etsy shop.

Nana's Box has several give-aways coming up. Stop
by and see what Nana's Box is all about.

5 minutes for Mom is another great site for some
neat give-aways!

Enjoy!

~Thankful Thursday~

Since Thanksgiving is coming up I have been thinking a lot about
how blessed I am. I have so much to be thankful for.

I am so thankful...

...for a husband who loves the Lord and loves and supports his family.
...for three beautiful, healthy children.
...for God fearing parents..
...for a country that allows me to worship the God I love.
...for a merciful God who loves me even though I don't deserve it.
...for the blessings that God pours out to me each and every day.
...for being healthy.
...for brothers and a sister who love God.
...for being able to home school my kids (even though it
can be a headache)~but so worth it.
...for food and a roof over my head.

I decided to stop with 10 or I could go on for a VERY long time.

Psalm 40:5~Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which
thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot
be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak
of them, they are more than can be numbered. ~KJV

What are you thankful for today?

Cup of Friendship Award

I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful ladies
here in the blogging world...one of them is Joan....
She gave me this award. Be sure to visit her at More God = Less Me.

The award comes with a questionnaire...so here goes...

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood?
Not close friends. I married right out of high school and moved away. I never really kept in touch with anyone. When I go back home I may see a few familiar faces, but that's it.

2. What do you value most about your friends?
Honesty...sincerity...

3. Are your friends your sounding boards?
No ~ not really.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends?
Playing games... lunch... sittin' back & relaxin' ;o}

I would like to give this award to everyone...but that would make for one
REALLY long post ;o}..so, I think I will do it this way!

If you visit this blog regularly...I consider you a friend...It is too hard for me
to just pick a few to give this award too. There are so many that I would love
to sit back, relax and enjoy a creamy, hot cappuccino with...
(I don't like coffee) ;o}

So friends...consider yourself awarded!

~10 Things That Will STILL Be~

1. The King James Bible will Still have ALL of the answers.
2. God will still answer prayers.
3. There will still be anointed men of God preaching the gospel.
4. God will still pour out His blessings on His people.
5. There will still be room at the cross for the lost.
6. Jesus will still love you unconditionally.
7. There will still be singing praises unto God.
8. The Holy Spirit will still move in the hearts of His people.
9. God will still be on the throne.
10. God will still be in control.

Isn't it great to know who is still in control?

So, we can prayerfully sit back, relax and let the new president rule earthly
matters to please the fleshly desires of this world....don't worry....

God can handle it!
