Today's Foto Friday theme is:

'Things That Make You Go ~ Hmmmm'

You know~those things that make you stop, stare and wonder,
'What were they thinking?'

This is my dear hubby...we were browsing through the straw
market in Nassau when he saw this hat that comes with its own
built in dreadlocks.

Oh yeah~He is gonna want to strangle me for this!

Don't forget to let me know you are playing. I can't

Boys & Their Bows

The boys finally got their bow in yesterday! Yay!
No-more constant nagging about the mail being slow or
the place we bought it from ripping us off.

It came yesterday and for the first time in two weeks they didn't
notice that the mail man was here. I grabbed up the package and hid it in
the laundry room.

(:o}~I know, that was a little sneaky)

I wanted to save it for when their dad got home and could see them
open it. You should have seen the look on their faces when I told them
it had been sitting in the laundry room for most of
the day and they were walking right past it.

They have been outside practicing all day.

I hope they get better...we have already lost two arrows in the grass. ;o}

She Gets it Honestly

As most of you know, we homeschool...we use Switched
on Schoolhouse. Each child has their own unit that they can
log into and design using one of the several pre-set themes.

When Dalton logged onto his school yesterday,
this is what he found...

Kayla had logged into his school and changed his theme to
this girly one. Needless to say, he didn't think it was too funny
but I thought it was hilarious...he had it coming --- trust me.

The prank part she gets from her daddy...the getting even
part~well, she gets that from me. ;o}

Today's Foto Friday theme is:

'Bad Hair Day'

This is not going to be an easy Foto to post....
...because it is me. ;o{

This is what happens when you have your picture taken when you
are standing too close to the edge of the ship. My husband was snapping
this shot~you would think it would have crossed his mind to say
something...ANYTHING would have been nice...but then I
wouldn't have this wonderful memory ;o} would I?

I had to scan this picture in and fortunately for me ;o} It is poor quality...so
you can hardly see that all of my hair has blown up in the air!

One things for sure...you can't say I don't have a sense of humor ;o}

I look forward to seeing all of your bad hair day Fotos!

~This and That~

To answer everyone's question...NO, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.
But I have been tempted to find a nice warm cave and hide out there until
spring. This isn't the fall I have fond memories of...and love...and wait for
all year! The nights have been way too cold for me!
Plus everyone is getting the flu or something like it and
I DON'T WANT IT!
It's way too early for everyone to be getting the flu!

Okay...I have the whining out of my system, so I can tell you about our
Harvest Day we had Sunday. I love Harvest Day! We have a lot who
dressed up and it makes it so much fun to see everyone joining in.
We even had a guest speaker (Bro. Dale Tilley) who played the banjo...
there is just something about the banjo that reminds me
of the good ole days. ;o}

Here we are all dressed up in our old fashioned attire.
Although, I did get complimented by one older lady...she told me that I
should dress like that more often...she just loved my shawl! ;o}

My nephews....aren't they cute in their overalls? Well, that's all folks....

What A Weekend!

Wow! What a weekend!
I will spare you from all of the details...but I am wore out
Yesterday was Dalton's 15th birthday! 15!
That is just so hard to believe. To celebrate his birthday.....we had another
'never' sleepover Friday night....nine kids in all (Kayla had a friend over too)
....and you won't believe it, but they all went to sleep! Okay....so it was
only about 3 hours....but they still slept. We had football games,
a weenie roast with smores and tons of hot dogs!
Boy, teenage boys can eat.
At our house softball is a BIG thing. So, Jeremy & I loaded up the
boys and took off to the softball field for a few hours of
fun....then back home for some 'very' sloppy joes.....

Then, finally around 2.....they went home! Yay!
NO MORE SLEEP OVERS TILL NEXT YEAR!
I do have to tell you a funny story though....Just imagine....7 boys outside
in a tent. I check on them probably every 30 minutes or so and
finally around 1:30 A.M. I noticed something a little suspicious.
As I looked out the patio door towards the tent I saw globs of shaving
cream on the patio....hmmmm?
I THOUGHT that maybe someone had fallen asleep and they
did the ole' shaving cream in the hand and tickle the nose prank.
Boy, was I wrong!
I looked through the window just in time to see William
(one of the boy's friends) with his head covered in shaving cream!

He had decided he wanted to shave his head.
Yeah....at my house....at 1:30 A.M.....outside....in the dark!

Oh, but don't worry, he had lots of help.
The next morning when we could really see the damage....
his head looked like a checker board....too funny!
....and no, his mother didn't get mad....she just laughed.
I probably would have freaked out....just a little!

'FALL'

Because it is my favorite season...I had a really hard time picking
just ONE foto.
This picture is of Kayla. She had just turned 7 a couple of months before.
Isn't she cute! This is one of the last pictures I have of her before she lost her two front teeth. ;o}

~Spoiled Rotten~

This is Kayla's Kitten Shadow....and yes, she is putting baby clothes on her.
Funny thing is, Shadow loves it....sometimes I think she thinks
she is human.You would think she would resist, meow, or maybe
even scratch Kayla....but instead the kitten is just as relaxed as can be.

Kayla will wrap her up like a baby and even sometimes put her in a
bouncy seat in front of the t.v....

She even lays her down for naps....patting her until she falls asleep of'course. :o}

...and Shadow even has a special little basket to call her own.

Have you ever seen such a spoiled cat?

Coupons Anyone?

I have never been a coupon clipper...not that I don't want to save money,
I do....especially since the price of everything has gone WAY up and I have
two teenagers who eat pretty much 24/7. I just usually
find that I can buy the store brand in most things for cheaper
than what I can buy the name brand for...even with the coupon. Now
I admit, there are some things that MUST be name brand....for example,
Miracle Whip...Jif Peanut Butter...Kraft salad dressing
...just to name a few. :o}
...and of'course I never see coupons for those items!

I ran across this website about a month ago...and found coupons
on there that I can actually use. I rummaged through them clicking
and printing the ones I thought I could use and still get a good deal on....
I cut them out nice and neat....bought one of those coupon organizers.....
stuffed them into their correct category....and you guessed it,
they are still in there.

Now I am afraid to use them. What if I pick out all of the coupon brands.....
get up to the register....just to be told, "Mam, We do not accept the
coupons you print yourself." So, rather than face embarrassment,
I have left them in my (ugly) organizer....until today.

I went into Fred's (I picked a store I never go in to-you know, in case the
cashier gets mad and starts screaming at me because I am using
counterfeit coupons and the manager comes to ban me from the store)
grabbed some Palmolive...you can never have too much soap ;o} then
I grabbed an item that I had a coupon for....you know, for a quick
test run. ;o}- After the lady rang up my total, I slipped her the coupon,
she scanned it....and it worked.
Yay!

The item I had a coupon for was a bottle of Simply Green cleaner...
the coupon was for $2.00....the cleaner was priced for $1.99....I actually
made a penny off my purchase.

How cool is that?!?

It's All About Your Attitude

I ran across this story and just had to share it with you!

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and saw that she had only three hairs on her head. “Great,”
she said, “I think I will braid my hair today.”
So she did, and had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. “Hmm,” she said,
“I guess I will part my hair in the middle today.”
So she did, and had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that
she had only one hair left on her head.“Wow,” she said, “today I get to
wear my hair in a pony tail.” So she did, and had a
wonderful, wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that
there wasn’t a single hair on her head.
“Thank God!” she exclaimed. “I was running out
of things to do with my hair!”

Wow! See how the attitude you have towards things makes such a BIG difference!

Let’s be grateful for the things God has given us instead of complaining about the things He hasn't.

Today's Foto Friday theme is:
'relaxing'
....and boy was it a hard one for me.

I finally decided on this picture. It is one of my favorite pictures I took
while we were in Half Moon Cay, Bahamas last year. Going through
all of these pictures makes me want to go back...
NOW, would be nice.

Have You Seen Fireproof Yet?

Have you gone to see the movie Fireproof yet?

I have been waiting for this movie to come out for about a year. Trust me....I am not very patient when it comes to something like that. I wasn't aware it was going to be in theaters, so I was constantly bugging the lady at the video store. Is it here yet? Have you heard when it's coming out? I did this for about 6 months...until I heard it was going to be in theaters....on September 26th.

What? You mean I have to go to the theater to watch this movie? Did I mention I do not like crowds?....and to make it even worse I have to wait until September 26th to see the movie I have been wanting to see practically my whole life...okay, maybe not that long.

Well, to make a long story short....we bought tickets for Friday night....the 26th ;o} Luckily, Jeremy and John got there when they did because the theater sold out just a few minutes later. Did I mention that Jeremy thought it would be funny to tell me the theater had sold out before he had a chance to buy our tickets? That was so NOT funny! Anyway, we got our popcorn and drinks and settled in amongst WAY too many people to watch the long anticipated movie.

It was not a disappointment! It was great....a tear jerker for sure. In the movie Caleb (Kirk Cameron) is a hero at work but is just the opposite at home. He puts effort into his work life, but not his home life. His father encourages him to try harder to save his marriage and he does....that kind-of hits home doesn't it? Sometimes we get all wrapped up in everything else....we get tired and there is nothing left for our spouses....our families. We sort-of forget that we need to TRY there too...a happy marriage is not gonna just happen, Satan will make sure of that...it takes work on both sides. I will not give away any details....just in case you haven't seen the movie....

And if you haven't......What are you waiting for?
