I guess with the kids growing up so fast I have been in a bit of a

sentimental mood lately. I can't believe the boys are both taller

than I am and Kayla is quickly gaining on me. It makes all

of these pictures even more precious with each passing year.

I just wanted to share my newest pillowcase dress with everyone.

I think it's my favorite one yet!

I am working on a tutorial to post in a couple of weeks.
I have been talking to a few ladies who make these dresses and noticed
that I make mine a little different than everyone else...easier?...

Please Pray For Chandler

This is my cousin's son Chandler....

He is 4...

He is very sick with viral pneumonia....they flew him to

Kosair's Children's Hospital where he was diagnosed. They had to

perform surgery last night because his lung collapsed and they had to enlarge

a hole in his lung and remove some excess build up....I don't know all of the

medical jargon but I am told he is very sick & will probably have to

stay on a breathing machine for a while after surgery. I haven't

heard from the family this morning...I will update as soon as

I hear any news.

Please keep Chandler and his family in your prayers...

we lost his big brother Tanner to cancer in September of 2007. You

can read about him HERE.

I can't imagine what his parents Steve & Stacie are

feeling right now.

A New Recipe

I tried a new recipe!

My hubby always hates to hear those words....

He's one of those people who order the same dish every

time they got to a restaurant...

Sometimes I get tired of fixing the same old things...so

every now & then I try a new recipe.

Last night I tried this:

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast

Pound 6 chicken breast halves until they are about 1/4 inch thick.

Sprinkle with salt & pepper. Top each breast with 2 slices of ham

and sprinkle with Monterrey Jack Cheese. Fold in half and wrap

each breast in two slices of bacon. Place bundles side by side in a

baking pan. Bake uncovered in a preheated oven @ 350* for

45 minutes or until bacon is browned. Sprinkle with Monterrey

Jack Cheese and serve.

It was a hit!
Even Kayla liked it! (and that's saying a lot)

...And There Was Light!

THEY HAVE POWER!

Mom called me this morning to let me know that the

electricity came back on last night....praise God!

My brother Brian is still in the dark...but we are praying it

won't be much longer until they are back on too. I couldn't imagine

being that long without electricity...

Mom said the electric trucks were rolling in yesterday by the

dozens...it's about time!

Well...just wanted to let everyone know the good news!

Update On Dad!

I just got off the phone with mom...she had spoken with the Dr.'s
from M.D. Anderson this morning regarding dad's
follow-up visit last week.

First of all...if you aren't familiar with dad's case you can
catch up on it a bit here. Against the advice of the Dr.'s dad

insisted on going a round of radiation...but due to the amount he

has already had on his brain he was only able to receive a

partial treatment. Dad was told to expect loss of sight,
problems with his emotions and even speech in the next 6 months.

So that leads us up to now....
'6 months later'

....Dad has not loss any of those things...he has an

occasional headache but for the most part he is working &

carrying on as usual.

Let me start off with saying that the doctors...'in their own

words'...told dad they were baffled. They just can't understand

why he is doing so well...

The results of the tests are that the cancer that they initially

treated is a little smaller...but still there.

There is another spot that is a centimeter and a half above that

one that wasn't there before.

They first told them that they aren't even sure it is cancer, but maybe

scar tissue from the radiation...they are unable to biopsy it due to the

location. After reviewing the test results the Dr.'s have concluded

that it is cancer. They say it is in the bone & the lining of the brain.

They were hesitant at first in even attempting any sort of treatment

because dad is doing so unbelievably well...but they are leaning

towards 12 weeks of chemo. They will know more in the next

couple of weeks.

Dad is still taking his glyconutrients & all of his herbal & natural stuff.

Have you ever tasted an apricot seed? YUCK! It is awful!

Mom says that they have peace...that God has given them peace &

grace...she kept on saying how they have been blessed far beyond

measure...and to think, I was complaining yesterday because

I had laundry up to my ears.

Remember to keep them both in prayer...

and another thing...they are still without electricity

in Mayfield...this is their 3rd week!
