Coffee Cheese Cake

While we were in Arkansas...we had the privilege to dine
with several families from Stanfill Baptist Church.

I got some great new recipes that I will be sharing with you.
Mrs. Cristi Copeland (the lady we stayed with) is such
a great cook! She would put Paula Deen to shame ;o}

Now, I know some you ladies just love Paula Deen...
...but not me.

Here is a recipe that Mrs. Cristi made Sunday
morning to go with breakfast.
I hope you enjoy it!

COFFEE CHEESE CAKE
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. flour
1 egg
1 can crescent rolls
1 1/2 t. sugar
1/4 t. cinnamon

Place un-rolled crescent rolls in a greased 8 or 9 inch baking
dish and pat down. Combine first 4 ingredients and pour over
crescent rolls. Combine the last 2 ingredients and sprinkle over top
of cream cheese mixture. Bake at 350 for 24 to 30 minutes.
Best when served warm!
(To make a 9 x 13 size....just double recipe)

*WARNING* Tons of Pictures ;o}

Meet David & Cristi Copeland...
They were so sweet to open up their home to us while we
were in Arkansas. The Lord has blessed them with the gift of
hospitality and believe me...you will never find better hosts.

Jeremy just made himself at home...
Dalton with Lance Copeland.
Kayla with Mr. Robert (Popeye)...Robert is one of the farm
hands who work with David on the farm. Kayla just
fell in love with him...he was tickled she wanted
a picture with him. Kayla with Lucy Copeland ;o}
The kids loved feeding the cows...
The driveway up to the house went through the pastures...
I sure wish I knew what the cows were thinking ;o} Kayla with more kids from church...the more
pictures I took...the more kids would show up ;o}
Jeremy with some good friends...
Here we are with Bro. Wade (Pastor of Stanfill
Baptist Church) and his wife Amanda. Whew!
What a week...we had such a great time! It was great
to visit with some old friends and as always make
a few new ones. Lucky for you guys I am wore out...there
are many more pictures where these came from. ;o}

We found out that if the cows were in the driveway not
to honk...well....not unless you were planning on staying
there for a while. That's how they called the cows
to eat. ;o}

Kayla with her friends Cora & Regan.

Thursday we went to climb Mount Pinnacle...This is a picture
of the "easy side"...I would love to have a talk with
the person responsible for naming it that ;o}!
We did finally make it to the top!
Here the boys are with Dave Copeland at the top
of Mount Pinnacle.

Kayla is enjoying the beautiful view...

Finally!

Finally!

I finally got on-line! You never realize how addicted you are
until you can't get a connection ;0}

We are just outside of Vilonia, Arkansas...Jeremy has
been preaching revival services at Stanfill Baptist Church.
and we are staying with a family from the church....
They have a beautiful home!
It's really more like staying up in the mountains at a
log cabin bed & breakfast than at some one's house.

Just imagine driving for 3 miles down a long winding driveway
through cow pastures and then up in the woods past large rocks
and even a little waterfall to the top of a hill that over looks
a five acre lake...and acre after acre of woods dotted with
deer and turkeys...The house is built like a rustic cabin...
with cow furs on the living room floor, a gigantic elk
hanging over the fireplace...wood log trim everywhere!
It's just beautiful....no noisy neighbors (ha-I'm not
talking about you Courtney ;o}) Unless you count the cows!
We woke up Monday morning with one looking in our
bed room window!

The revival has been going great...The Lord has really blessed
Jeremy with some awesome messages...David (the man we
are staying with) has been inviting his lost father...he came Monday
night...be in prayer that he will come back and he won't be able
to sleep until he accepts Jesus into his heart.
Please be in prayer
as we finish the revival out tomorrow night.

Oh yeah....I took Kayla to the urgent care Sat. morning before
we left...to make sure she didn't have strep....(or anything else
contagious)...good news! She didn't, it was just tonsillitis. She
did run a fever for a little longer...at one time it got up to 103.4!
But she is back to her curious, happy little self...Praise the
Lord!
Thank you all for praying!

Trust me...
I will be posting tons of pictures when I get home ;o}

CAST YOUR VOTE!

Hey everyone, I'm Tracy's friend, Mindy, and I'll be posting for her today.
Tracy is out of town this week, she's in revival in Arkansas with
her family.
She wanted me to do this post because she has little to no access to the internet, so
here goes....
Nina, over at Portugal Bound blog, has been doing a "caption" contest this week.
Tracy is a finalist and wants everyone to go vote for her caption!
I think hers is pretty funny! Considering that Nina already has 5 children!
Go here to cast your vote!

Ohhh Noooo!

Kayla is running a fever!

100.7

She has been fine all day...just a sore throat, but I
assumed that was due to sinuses.

Well, guess not!

We were planning on leaving tomorrow at 11:00 to head to
Arkansas. Under Grace will be singing tomorrow night
and Hubby will be preaching a revival starting Sunday....
going through Thursday night.

Please say a prayer for Kayla...that she will feel better.
I really hate when one of my kids are sick...
it makes me miserable!
Not to mention....I can't imagine Jeremy going
to preach a revival without me...

I know, pitiful isn't it ;o{...but I have always gone with him...
...and it will break my heart if I have to stay home.

Sniff...sniff...I guess that's enough whining.

Quick!
Say a prayer...
;o}

OREO COOKIE TRIFLE

Thought I'd share a new recipe with ya.

I tried this one on the family over the Easter weekend
and it was a hit!

OREO COOKIE TRIFLE

Ingredients:

1 pkg. Oreo cookies (crushed)
1 stick butter (melted)
1 pkg. brownie mix (cooked, cooled & crumbled)
1 (8oz.) cream cheese (softened)
2 small tubs cool whip
1 c. powdered sugar
2 small boxes instant chocolate pudding (prepared)

Directions:

You will need either a trifle dish or a large glass bowl.

Combine crushed oreos with butter, mix well...set aside about 1/3 cup for topping and set aside. Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1 1/2 tub of cool whip, mix until smooth, set aside. You want to layer the ingredients in this order...you will have 2 layers of each.Oreos, cream cheese mixture, brownie, chocolate pudding...repeat. After you finish with your last layer, top with cool whip and garnish with your reserved oreos. Chill until ready to serve!

Hope you enjoy it!

Get Down From There!

If you look closely towards the top of tree you
will see my 14 year old son Ethan...

He scares me to death!

(Our land was hit by a tornado a few years ago...
that's why our trees look so odd.)

Make Your Own Skirt...

I just had to share this!

I ran across this site the other day...
...it shows you how to take an old pair of jeans
and make a cute little skirt.

Here is Kayla wearing her new skirt!

This is such a great idea...and it looks just like the ones they sell
in stores...okay, it may be a bit longer ;o} or a lot longer!

It blows my mind how the skirts they sell keep getting shorter
and shorter...seriously...if your skirt is so short you can't
bend over with-out mooning everyone...then you probably
need to change ;o}

Unless...of'course that is your intention...
then you need to change more than your skirt.

...didn't mean to get off on that subject...but good grief!
Who designs these clothes?

Have fun making your skirts!

Mountain View, Arkansas

I have been meaning to get these up all week...but my
week has been going faster than I realized...

Here are a few pictures of our Arkansas trip last week...
well, there may be more than a few ;o}

When your G.P.S. says to take a left on Ash trail....
and the road looks like this...you might want to get a second opinion.

Bubba teeth to the rescue....for a few miles anyway...

Finally at the cabin! Jeremy & John take a minute to relax.

...boy I wish I had a swing!

Rocks? What rocks? We're not throwing rocks....

The whole gang....
We took an afternoon & enjoyed the sights around Mountain View.

My (no so little anymore ;o}) dare devil....

Sawyer was stuck to Kayla like glue the whole trip....

Yeah...that 'beware of the bears' sign was just
for looks...Right? I hope so...cause we didn't pay
much attention to it ;o}

The guys couldn't let Ethan have all the fun...

John Lindsey & John Dillinger....at Bro. Jimmy Chandler's church in
Mountain View Arkansas.

Bro. Tony Hutson

Jeremy, Bro. Tony & John
You see any resemblance in two of them? ;o}

After we left Mountain View we went to Conway...sorry no
pictures of that...but then we were off to Murfreesboro, Tn....
This is how the entire drive was!

Tornado warnings the whole way...it was terrible!

Here are a few pictures from Bro. Tony's church,
Middle Tennessee Baptist

We had a great trip....I am looking forward to seeing
Bro. Tony again in May.

Blessings Abundant

As most of you know...our church building caught fire last Sunday
morning. It wasn't a total loss...but when you have a fire it
damages far beyond what the flames itself touch.

We had already had the trip to Arkansas planned....we were
hesitant to leave with so much to be done, but God gave
us peace about it. So, despite our feelings...we decided to go.

And I am so glad we did!
It never ceases to amaze me how God works through his people.
Churches are taking up love offerings to put towards
either re-building or repairs....now we haven't asked for a
penny...please understand that...it's just God's people wanting to
be a blessing to Holy Hills Baptist Church!

Sure,we were expecting to come back home filled to the brim,
but as the old song says, "I'm drinking from my saucer, 'cause my
cup has overflowed." Is more along the lines of describing
how we feel.

Today at Bro. Tony Hutson's church they will be taking up
another love offering for Holy Hills....
Isn't it amazing?!?
There have been people volunteer their church builings to
have services in...crews offering to help us re-build!
Ladies volunteering to come cook for those crews...and the
list keeps getting longer. We have people lined up to help
with whatever we need as soon as God says, "GO!"
The word has gotten out that Holy Hills is on fire for God and
that the Devil is MAD and trying to do whatever it takes
to destroy it....There are so many churches that are reaching
out to us...and most importantly...praying for our church family.

The preacher last night made this statement:
The more you mean to God the more determined the
devil is to destroy you.

So, keep a watchful eye Holy Hills...When Satan realizes
that this isn't gonna keep us down...
he's really gonna be mad!

Foto Friday

Today's theme for Foto Friday is:

Wore Out!

Sorry I am so late with the theme...and to make things
worse I have no Foto to post :o{ since we are out of town and all
my fotos are on my home computer.

We have been in Arkansas Monday-Thursday...and now
we are Murfreesboro, TN attending Bro. Tony Hudson's teen camp
meeting at Middle Tennessee Baptist Church....and let me just
throw in that these people know how to have church (so
to speak)...but that's how I came up with the theme..I am
just about wore out ;o} I love to travel and go to different
camp meetings and meet new people...I guess that would be the
11% extrovert in me ;o}
We have had a great time...

So, if any of you are planning on attending the camp
meeting tonight...look us up.
Have a great weekend!
