~Our Weekend~

We went to visit mom & Kara over the weekend. It was
the first time I'd been back in the house since the day
after daddy's funeral.

It was so strange to walk in and see his straw
hat hanging in the bathroom, his jacket on the back of the
 door...his things in the same places he always put them...
I miss him...

My nieces and nephews came over to play with the kiddos
Saturday. They are like stairsteps, but not in order of
age...my sister, Kara (the girl in the red) is 17 & the oldest.
She is slowly being pushed further down the line by the boys.
If you look in the top of this tree...you will see Ethan.
I had to threaten him with-in an inch of his life to get him down.
As if he wasn't already there!!  I use to do the same thing...
but now it scares me to see him that high up.
Monkey see - Monkey do!
For some reason, little kids love Ethan. They
are always copying every move he makes ;o} Thank
Goodness Caleb didn't try the same tree Ethan climbed.
Since the weather was sooo beautiful we made the kids a
scavenger hunt. It kept them busy for about 2 hours.
One of the items the kids had to find was a square rock...
and the bonus (which counted for extra points) was best fossil.
You wouldn't believe how long these kids looked for
square rocks ;o}
Since more than one kid collected all of the items on
the list (even the something alive~yuck) the winner was
decided by who had the 'squarest' rock. I think Ethan won.
It's so hard to get a good picture of these two. One hardly
EVER smiles in pictures and the other can't be still long enough
for a picture~I'm sure you can guess which is which.
After supper the kiddos break out the board games...
here they are playing Apples to Apples...and that's fun...but...
Bananagrams usually gets played tons more than any other game...
Playing games is a lot of fun...you should try it.
Turn the t.v. off (there's nothing on there but trash anyway) ;o}
and spend some quality time with the family playing a good game.

~Sewing Pattern Giveaway~

The winner of the bloomer pattern is~
Christian at Who Would've Thought
Hope you have fun making tons of bloomers!

Have I ever told you that I love to sew?

Lately...I have been looking for a different bloomer/diaper
cover pattern. So, I purchased this one from Etsy....AND...
to my disappointment...

It's the same one I already have.
It's a great pattern, and super easy to follow...
I'm just looking for something specific and this isn't it.

SO~I'm going to give this one away...It's a PDF download...
which means it will be sent to the winner by e-mail.

To enter just leave a comment...more than 'Hi' would be
awesome too ;o}

I will choose a winner on Sunday the 21st!

I'm sure your odds will be pretty good~
since most of my blog friends do not sew ;o}

I hate seafood!

Our friend Mike bought some shrimp and was kind
enough to share some with us.
Let me just get it out in the open...My name is Tracy and I
hate seafood!

I like fish from Captain D's, but that's it. I'm not
sure that really even qualifies as 'seafood' but it's as close as
I'm gonna get to eating it ;o}
I decided I needed to cook these over-sized grub worms for
hubby...plus Mike keeps asking me If I've cooked them yet
and I hated to keep saying no ;o}

So, last night I made Shrimp Scampi over pasta. Hubby &
Dalton really liked it....Ethan wouldn't even try it...AND as
for Kayla & I...well~

I cleaned it and she watched...so, that pretty much
grossed us out too much to eat it.

Seriously?!?
Any recipe that starts off with the words:

Remove legs
Cannot be good!

...BUT...
I still have plenty of shrimp for another disgusting  yummy ;o}
dinner for hubby. SO, if anyone has any great shrimp
recipes...please share.

BANANAGRAMS!

I LOVE TO PLAY GAMES!
(good games that is)

~and not games where people you play with stand up,
throw down the skip card & yell 'BAM' everytime they
skip you...NOW THAT...makes me very unhappy!

SERIOUSLY?!? It's just a game!
It's not like they are skipping me in real life~
lol

AND~I really don't mind getting skipped...it doesn't
bother me at all...UNLESS you lay down a skip like the
goofball I was just talking about...then, we may have
problems playing together ;o}

While we were in Texas...mom & Kara taught us the game
Bananagrams...and now we are hooked on it!
It's fast paced and you have to think quick...but
I will warn you...if you cannot spell very well...
then you might want to just sit back and watch. There are
two who do not care to play here at our house for that
very reason. (one of them is the skipping goofball I
mentioned earlier) ;o}

Do you have any favorite games? Let me know...I'm
always looking for a new one!
