On Fire? Seriously?

Today was no ordinary Sunday....We got a call

this morning saying that the church was on fire...

Yeah....on fire...as in flames!

So off hubby went to see what was goin' on...with our guys at

church you never know when they are serious or trying

to pull one over on ya...

This time they were serious....
We were getting ready to baptize someone this afternoon...so the

baptistry heater...and all that stuff was on. The fire started down

under the baptistry but we aren't sure what the exact cause was.

That's all the stuff that was in the storage room where the fire started....

Most of the basement is holding water...

Everything else I didn't post a picture of has a thick layer of soot on it.

We can't meet here for a while....we are having to change around service
times and meet at another church building. When I was calling church
members to inform them of the time & location changes they replied,
"On fire.... ....seriously? are you kidding?" Like I am gonna kid about the
church catching on fire ;o} but around HH it's never a bad idea to get a
second opinion....you never know when they're trying to pull one over on ya.

We have been praying for some time about building...we are out of
room and really need to build. I had one church member
tell me this morning that maybe this is God's way of saying,
"It's time to do something....I made the first move...now it's your turn."

That's too funny....I don't know why it happened....but I am thankful that
no-one was hurt...it could have been so much worse. Especially with
Bro. John living right next door...

Please be in prayer for dear hubby, Bro. John and
the other leaders in the church that God will give them the wisdom to
handle this situation in a way that will bring honor and glory to Him.

It has been so long since Suzy was a pup I forgot just how much of a
nightmare puppies can be. Nothing is safe when Luke is around. He's
been chewing on everything for the past couple of months and it's driving
me nuts!

IT'S VERY ADDICTING!

There Ain't No Bugs On Me..

I just couldn't resist the title of this post....

I don't mind bugs...I don't want them in my house...or on me...

but bugs in general do not 'bug' me ;o} Unless of'course

you mean roaches...now they really gross me out.

...and I have an extreme fear of spiders...but they're

not bugs....so that doesn't count.

Now there's one bug that I hate the most....and that is the lice bug!

Just thinking about it makes me itch!

We have had an occasion or two over the years where the kids have

brought these little disgusting creatures home....and those chemicals that

you have to buy are horrible and not to mention expensive and

they don't usually work too well.

Well....I have found something that works and most people have

it on hand. The best part is.....it only costs about $1.00!

Just lather dry hair in tons of dawn...let it set for about 15 minutes...
then rinse. Since Dawn is a grease remover it will strip your hair
of it's natural oils so don't forget to condition afterwards. It will
not remove the nits...but it will kill the bugs!

And no HH members! We do not have bugs!

I just wanted to share this tid bit of info that was passed
along to me by a friend.
...just in-case you have a run-in with that dreaded bug!

Good News!

Good News...

I finally got an e-mail from the seller...

She has decided to stand by her word and accept the machine

back and give me a full refund!

Of'course....I will never know if she decided on her own

or if e-bay helped her to decide :o}

Not that it really matters...

I got it in the mail FIRST thing this morning!
I think I will buy my next machine locally! ;o}

Good News & Bad News

I have some good news and some bad news...

Ok...good news first!

I finally bid on an embroidery machine on e-bay and I won!

YAY ME!

Well...the bad news is...

I got the machine in and...

work!

As dear hubby says....

It's Jacked up!

To make matters worse...the seller claims that it was working fine

when she put it in the box. 'of'course it was' ;o} I had to file a claim

with pay pal and I am still waiting to hear from someone...did I mention I am

not very patient when there's money involved? WELL...I'm not!

I thought that if the seller stated in the add that the item could be

returned...that they had to take it back. I forgot to ask e-bay...

Anyway...just say a quick prayer that either this lady will decide to do

the right thing and take the machine back or e-bay will force her too.

Friday The 13? Or Satan Himself?

I have never been superstitious....

I don't believe in good luck....

....or bad luck.

I absolutely L.O.V.E. black cats!

And if I needed to walk through a room it wouldn't

bother me to walk under a ladder.

The words 'Friday the 13th' do not send goose bumps

down my back either.

We have been revival all week in Blytheville, Ark at Lone Oak Baptist

Church. Hubby preached all week and Under grace sang last night. It

was a really good week.

They have a family life center with a gym/fellowship hall and after

church we would go have a glass of sweet tea and watch the

kids & hubbies play ball.

NOTE to all of the HH members ~

WE REALLY NEED A FAMILY LIFE CENTER!

All was well...

...we had escaped the so-called dreaded FRIDAY

THE 13TH curse.

On the way home....on those Oh so smooth Missouri roads
~NOT~

Seriously! What do they use tax money for in Missouri?

Anyway....

All of as sudden we heard a loud thud and then felt the rumble.

A blowout...luckily we had just gotten on road where the

speed limit was 45.......and not 70 like the one we just turned off of.

As if things weren't bad enough...the jack just wasn't working right.

Luckily Jeff & his family had came to revival

that night and weren't too far behind.

I snapped a few pictures of our mis-adventure...

...just before it started to rain!Oh yeah....it rained!

Here's Jeff giving hubby a break & giving the boys a quick

lesson on changing a tire.

So...was it the curse of Friday the 13th?

Or that Ole' trickster the Devil?

As some of you know I have been wanting one of these for a while!

And I admit I am getting very impatient!

I have been watching e-bay faithfully...when I finally
find one that suits me (and I'm picky) some one scoops in at the last
minute LITERALLY and bids $1.00 higher than me! $1.00!

It's almost like they know me and don't really want the machine...
....they just want to aggravate. ;o}

I've decided it's probably Bro. John ;o}....he is sort-of on my B list at the moment. ;o}

See...we went to Arby's after church Sunday night. Since Dalton had ran
off with hubby's keys (teenagers---now that's a totally different post all
together) I had to turn around and pick up hubby & Bro. John. They
sat in the back and we made it SAFELY to Arby's for our free sandwich.
Well...when I check my e-mail the next morning... this video about women
drivers was in it from yours truly ~ Bro. John.

Awful suspicious isn't it!

I'm kidding....I pretty sure it's not him on e-bay...but I will be asking
him about this video!

Spring is in the air!

I am so glad it's almost spring!

There are so many pretty spring/summer prints that I am

just itching to use. This same print I recently made as tops for 3 sisters sizes

12 mos. 3 T & 5T...they are going to wear them with denim capris!

Too cute!

I am still working on that tutorial....

Here are the measurements I use...in case you run across a
really cute print you just have to have.

3 months ~ 11"
6 months ~ 13"
12 months ~ 15"
18 months ~ 17"
2T ~ 19"
3T ~ 21"
4T ~ 23"
5T ~ 25"
6T ~ 27"

Add 3 inches to that length for hems. This tutorial will be for a
fully lined pillowcase dress/top. You will need to buy the same
amount in a coordinating color to use for the lining.

To make sure your measurements are just right...(especially for a top)
measure your sweetheart from the top of the shoulder to where you
would like the dress/top to hang.

Other materials you will need to have on hand:

Grosgrain Ribbon: 2 yards
(something that will match your fabric)
1 pkg. 1/4 inch wide elastic cord
Fray Check
(or a clear finger nail polish will do)

...and of'course the basics: matching thread, measuring tape,
scissors, iron....sewing machine ;o}...and a must have for me is spray
starch...it's not a necessity...but it sure makes life easier!

Are You One Of Those People?

I was standing in the checkout line the other day....
pulling my coupon organizer out of my purse...when a
voice from behind me huffed and said,
Are you one of those people?"

One of those people?
What kind-of question was that?

So, I asked her....."One of what people?"

"You Know." she said..."One of those people who wait til
the last minute to dig up coupons and expect everyone behind
them to wait patiently so they can save 25 cents...If you need to save

a quarter that bad then you don't have any business at Wal-Mart."

"No ma'am...I always have my coupons ready when I get
to the register." I replied.

"Well...Good! It makes ,me so mad when I
get behind one of those people" she said in a hateful voice.

"It makes me just want to scream at them for being so selfish

and making me wait! There just isn't any sense in it"

She mumbled on more & more & more the whole time I was

in front of her....I tried not to listen....(although if you were

within 15 feet of her you couldn't help but hear her complaining)

The sad thing was....she was wearing a shirt that read:
