A Lesson Learned

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed a
bored 15 year old and a red ink pen together?

Dalton was obviously so bored that the only way he could find to
occupy himself was to chew on the end of a pen....he was so into the
movie that he didn't realize he had sucked the ink right up the tube...

This is after he brushed his teeth....I laughed so hard at him.
The look on his face was priceless...he was so relieved that
it came off....well, most of it ;o}

~A Beautiful Full Moon~

Last night was such a beautiful night!

The moon was full and bright. It's silvery beams shone through
the windows lighting up the whole house.

The kids were all in bed and and it was just us two....

...all alone...
....sounds romantic huh?

Well....I guess it would have been ~ if I was snuggling
with my darling hubby instead of this....
Yep ~ you guessed it...I caught that stupid virus after all!
Luckily it was short lived and today everyone is well!
Thank God!

Dear hubby has been walking around with a can of Lysol all day.
He is the only one who hasn't had the virus. I hope he doesn't
get it...he's not exactly the easiest sick person to take care of ;o}
Big Baby!

totally forgot it was Friday!

I have been bleaching and spraying everything down
with Lysol...Washing everything that will fit in the washer....
I AM NOT GETTING SICK! (I hope & pray & pray some more!)

Dalton & Kayla are better today....but now Ethan is sick.
So keep praying!

So, without further delay....here is Foto Friday!

Chicken Noodle Soup & a Virus

14 days until Christmas and two of my kids are sick!
I am guessing they have a virus....

I went to the store and stocked up on Sprite, crackers & of'course
popsicles! Kayla loves the banana ones.
Just so you know...we hardly ever get sick...EVER!
Say a prayer for them ~ that they will get over it soon.
And for the rest of us ~ that we won't get it!
(We are going to see the Christmas program at Bellevue tom night!)

I am making some home-made chicken noodle soup for dinner.
I hope that Dalton & Kayla will feel like eating some later...
Honestly, I really don't like chicken noodle soup...but I am
thinking more along the lines of what will do the least
damage on the way back up ;o}
~I know....that's gross!~

Here is the recipe~just in case some one else comes down with the bug ;o}

2 T butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 stalks chopped celery
1 T parsley flakes
8 chicken legs
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup canned green peas and carrots
1 c milk
1 bag egg noodles, cooked and drained
salt & pepper to taste
Sometimes I add a sprinkle of Montreal Chicken seasoning too!

Cook chicken in water until done. Remove chicken from pot
(reserving broth)and remove from bone. Add enough water to broth to
make 5 cups; set aside. In a large pot, melt butter and add
onion and celery; sauté until onion is tender. Add the
parsley, chicken, & soups. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and
simmer for 20 minutes. Add the peas and carrots,
cover, and simmer for 10 minutes longer. Stir in the milk, along with the
cooked noodles; add salt & pepper to taste. Heat through.

Serve with warm rolls!

Stay healthy!

'LOVE'
I thought that since today was my anniversary and all that love
would be the perfect theme for today.
This is my nephew Colton....with his friend Liana. I asked
him to give her some sugar....he didn't hold back either! I was
thinking he might give her a little peck on the cheek.....
.....boy, was I wrong!

Shopping, Shopping & More Shopping!

Shopping!
Shopping!
Shopping!

Every year my mom puts together a family shopping trip. This year my mom,
sister & I along with my sister-n-laws went to Jonesboro, Arkansas.
They have a huge mall and & I think we covered every square
inch of it...or at least my feet felt like we did. ;o}

Here is Kayla pretending to be at the Masquerade Ball.

Here we are ready for another day of shopping!
Mom, Kayla, Kara, Jessica, Cheryl & me. We had a good time. I'm not one to stay away from my family...
....ever! ...but I guess once a year....for one night.....
I can handle it.....maybe! ;o}

Christmas Parades & Cookies

Well....it's that time of year again.
When you bundle up in so many clothes you can barely walk, leave
45 minutes early just to walk 2 blocks and stand outside in the
freezing cold to watch the Christmas parade.
Seriously....When we left, the thermostat on the truck said 33!

If you ask me...there is a thin line between having Christmas
spirit & being mentally insane! ;o}

Here we are freezing waiting for the parade to start.
Kayla was sure to get a good seat...she was hoping for
someone to fill her lap with candy.

Can you see all of the red noses?
After the parade we went to the church for some hot
chocolate & cookies.
It took a while...but I finally thawed out! ;o}
