~Foto Friday~

Today's Foto Friday theme is:

~Special Friends~

This is my hubby with Kayla Kallmeyer. She is the daughter of
a missionary family that our church supports.
We have the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people
and making some life-long friends.
Jeremy gave Kayla two of the Stooge dolls as a gift....
she found the long lost Curly doll and wanted to pose
for a picture.

She is a true blue Stooge fan if there ever was one!

Let me know if you are playing.

Let's see those friends who are special to you!

Empty Nest Syndrome?

Is it possible to have Empty Nest Syndrome...
before the kids leave home?

I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up.
One minute I have 3 Little ones running around spilling sippy cups,
coloring the walls and sticking things up their noses (Ethan) and in
what seems like NO TIME at all...I have two teenagers and
a 10 year old. (I refuse to call her a pre-teen) ;o}

I know the boys are past the cutesy little kid stuff stage...
'they keep reminding me of that'...but Kayla
still has some left in her and I am grasping onto it as tight as I can.

I am gonna miss walking in the bathroom after her shower to find this:

...and making crowns for Queen Suzy Q....

...and dressing up her kitty like a baby...

...and playing dress-up with her friends...
..and catching critters and making houses for them...
(this was just moments before it made its way onto her arm
and she flung it half-way across the house ;o})

I know you can't keep them little forever...I just wish
they didn't grow up quite so fast!

I remember once when Ethan was 2...we were sitting in the living room
and Ethan was making trip after trip from the kitchen to his bedroom.
After about the 6th trip or so I decided to see what
he was up to. Turns out, he was just playing basketball....
with eggs! And even though I am sure Dalton has learned his lesson when
it comes to ink pens...that there are many more 'memories' to come. ...Like the memory I have of the boys getting into a box feminine products
and sticking them all over the glass door that just happened to face
one of the busiest streets in Jackson.
They said they were airplane stickers ~get it?...the wings~. ;o}

What imaginations huh?

If you have little ones running around pulling everything off of shelves,
sticking things in toilets and everywhere else they can fit them into...
take time to enjoy them.

They won't be little forever...

Are You Having A Bad Day?

A friend sent these to me in an e-mail....I thought I'd share...
....in case you are having a bad day!

In a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, patients always died in the same bed,
on Sunday morning, at about 11:00 am, regardless of their medical condition.
This puzzled the doctors. No one could solve the mystery as to why the
deaths occurred always on the same day, same bed and around the same
time. A worldwide team of experts assembled to investigate
cause of the incidents.
The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before 11 all of the doctors,
nurses & experts nervously waited outside the ward to see for
themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about. Just when the
clock struck 11:00, Mr. Johnson, the part-time Sunday sweeper, entered
the ward and unplugged the life support system so he could
use the vacuum cleaner.

Still Having a bad day?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking
frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running
from his waist towards the electric outlet. Intending to jolt him
away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handle
from the broom, breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment,
he had been happily listening to his Walkman.

How about now? Still having a bad day???

An Iraqi terrorist didn't pay enough postage on a letter bomb.It came back
with 'Return to Sender' stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he
opened it and was blown to bits.

There now, Feeling Better?

Just goes to show you things could always be worse....
So, put on a smile and enjoy the rest of your day with an
attitude of gratitude!

New Year's Resolutions

So, what's your New Year's resolution?

Getting into shape?
Spending less money?
Spending more time with your family?
Getting a handle on that bad habit?
Or trying to not to get a handle on the loaded baked potato
with extra butter? ;o}

I have never....N.E.V.E.R....had a New Year's resolution.
I guess it never really made since to me....if you want to do
something, or not do something....why wait until the new year to start?

It always seems that people make ridiculous resolutions that they
have no intention on keeping anyway...
....it's sort-of like they set their goals too high on purpose.

I mean seriously ~ it seems impossible to me to expect to
wake up on January 1st and never have the desire to eat again?
I know...that's a little extreme ;o} but I think that
people expect it to be that easy.

Anyway...with all of this talk about resolutions....
....I decided that this year I am gonna have one....and it's one
I intend to follow through with.

My New Year's resolution is to grow deeper in my relationship
with the Lord. The older that I get the more I realize that
everything...E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.I do comes down to this. The
way I deal with my my family, the way I handle
my finances, how I treat myself...and others.

All of the 'other' resolutions will fall in line when we fall under
His Lordship...and truly commit ourselves to Him.

That’s the only way we are going to have a truly happy New Year.
